Greens and Rains

What else can a trip to Western Ghats in August called, Rains everywhere, Greens where ever you see. This time the vacation travel took me to Western Ghats. Green forest welcome as we entered the western ghats.

Everyday used to see minimum 8 to 10 hrs of amazing rainfall.

The Rain god stopped for sometime and allowed us a trip to Vidhyashankar and Shardamba temple. Vidhyashankar temple is a amazing temple where you can see optics at its best.

This Chain with 7 links is made from the stone that is part of the temple. People say the temple is a charriot and the chain was used pull it.

Wondering what are these.....???? These dolls I saw in between Agumbe and Sringeri. Now Some interesting story I got to hear from locals...

These village daities, Hebri is a big village in the vicinity, all the local villages perform pooja to these dolls and leave them at the boarder of their village, from where the people from BIG Village come and take them to their place. its like transfer of power or co-operative ruling ;-)

After climibing down the ghat section from Agumbe we reached the Sita Nadi Camp site in Someshwara.

Again the rains welcoming us....

The forest department cottage, too much luaxury to have in the middle of the forest.

My First Bird sighting on the Sita nadi river bank, yes a king fisher.

During the morning walk, the gain squirrel was sighted, we managed to get a decent pose of this guy..

The perfect place for a morning tea....

What can be more perfect setting for a breakfast....?

A long trek in the forest gave some gimplse of natures creation

Sita nadi a perfect place for rafting and Kyakking tried some adventure during kayakking to capture the kingfisher on my camera and landed in the water, but was a amazing experience in itself...

Well was trying to capture the woodpecker in this tree, but found that tree is too big for my camera to capture something on the top, but the tree itself was a great sight...makes me think we are so small and still how much fuss we make about ourselves, may lot to learn from the quite and clam tree...

Keep you eyes and ears open, Everything about the nature is just facinating look at the beauty in this dead pupil leaf....

A small stream flowing near the cottage was a great place to sit and read....

If you are interested in making a trip to Sita Nadi, here are some tips....

The day started with a Prayer

It was time for the gang Achievers to share their thoughts, motivate the new students, Cry and become emotional....( was it started by me ??, hope not )

With this we bid Goodbye to a Batch of a Bright students to pursue their career and make it big in life.

But, how could we close the day without welcoming the new Volunteers, The out going batch has taken up the mentoring of new students. It really feels great.
